Veritais complete AV & IT refit on 43m yacht
The overall installation comprised of eight independent zones; each controlled using a Control4, seven-inch tablet plus an alternative ‘hard-button’ remote. Each zone also has an HD media player that interfaces with the on board music and movie collections held on the 4TB central server as well as with the speakers, and has the capability to manage standalone disc players and other accessories. HD TV screens are standard throughout. For added convenience Veritais recommended and fitted a ‘disc ripper’ media server. Loading content from discs onto a central server can be a tedious and time consuming process for the crew, but this integrated model avoids that via a one-touch operating system that automatically identifies the type of disc inserted and then converts and files the content without any further user input required. While much of the previous AV system was removed and discarded, Veritais recommended the retention of a number of existing components, including two Bose 5.1 audio systems and some disc players. Veritais also incorporated a series of additional features that both enhance the entertainment options and illustrate the increasing convergence between AV and IT.
Perhaps the star item is the on-deck cinema that allows the owner and his guests to enjoy open-air movies. Here Veritais specified an Epson 1080p projector with a clamping system that makes the equipment quick and easy to set up and stow. Owner and guests can choose between watching films from the comfort of the cockpit using a 186cm front projection screen and opting for the seclusion of the aft deck where they can enjoy movies displayed on a 152cm rear projection screen. This dual operability allows for more flexibility in how the external area can be used and ensures that the open air cinema can be enjoyed without monopolising the entire aft area.
The saloon is fully equipped for sound and vision with its Bose sound system and a 55-inch LED 3D TV. As well as access to the central media server via the HD media player it also has a 3D Blu-ray disc player that additionally accepts DVDs and CDs so that guests can bring along and enjoy their own favourite films and music. The owners cabin is fitted out to a similar specification minus the disc player. The three guest cabins have 26-inch LED TVs and ceiling mounted speakers plus HD media players while the crew area has two, 20-inch LED monitors.
Lighting control was also required by the owner and designed in association with Savage Lighting. Fitted in the saloon, cockpit and owner’s cabin, the management of the RGB LED lighting is via the same Control4 wireless tablets used for the AV. As well as including full control of colour and intensity, the lighting software also allows the set-up of lighting scenes and even automatic changes when certain commands are sent to the AV system. For example, when the ’play movie’ button is pressed the lights automatically dim, and then come back up on ‘pause’ or ‘stop’.
A managed Wi-Fi System provides six wireless access points for full coverage below and on deck, linked to a Digital Yacht modem providing access to shore-based services and hotspots.

Michael Fenton is delighted with the installation aboard Titania. “Veritais have been open, honest and pragmatic throughout the project,” he commented. “They respond rapidly, and genuinely want to help, offering a robust and reliable solution. Nothing was too much trouble. They were accommodating of last minute changes and worked extremely hard to deliver the project on time. Veritais have a great team and I enjoy working with them. I’m sure we will do more business together in the future.”
“There was a requirement to upgrade the system to work more in harmony with the needs of Koo’s owner’s audio visual requirements, which had changed since the original installation. At the same time we wanted components to be added to allow the engineers on board the ability to manage these expectations. After some discussion, Veritais was able to modify the system to meet all of these requirements.”
“Veritais are my “go to” company for client audio visual requirements. The expert advice they offer is key for me, as well as the ability to cater for any installation, however big or small.”
Veritais provided the knowledge, skill and personal service we were looking for after an unsatisfactory experience with another marine audio visual company. They are friendly, efficient and passionate about providing the correct solution for a tricky retrofit installation.
I would happily recommend Veritais to Businesses or private homes alike . I have repeatedly used their services, and found that whether installing CCTV at my Business premises, or entertainment systems at my home – they have carried out the work to an exceptionally high standard. They were efficient, tidy workers, and proactive in suggesting and sourcing alternative solutions when obstacles occurred. I also found them to be exceptionally well priced compared to alternative quotes that I had.

I would have no problem recommending Veritais. They provide a first class service and are extremely customer focused.
