Supersharp High Definition viewing for Metsuyan IV
Veritais has just completed an upgrade to all the TV systems aboard the luxury motor yacht Metsuyan IV. The 36.2m (118.7ft) vessel now has all new very high definition 4K televisions and amplifiers, to bring the onboard viewing experience to the very highest level of available technology. The upgrade, which was carried out during a refit in Italy, replaced equipment which had been there since the yacht was built in 2006 by CBI Navi. A Veritais team of three were aboard the yacht for two weeks to carry out the upgrade, which was carefully designed to allow for minimum disturbance of the existing cabling and to utilise as much of the existing equipment as possible.
As well as the improvement to picture quality on all sources in all cabins, Veritais improved the switching over of TV’s and AV Receivers when selecting a new activity and provided a system that is future-proofed for the foreseeable future.
The new HD TVs were located on brackets in the four guest cabins, owner’s cabin and cocktail lounge, while new compact Marantz HD AV Receivers replaced existing non-HD Receivers. AV cupboards were re-wired and the existing Control4 system – whose touch screen application controls all the options – was reprogrammed. All software and firmware was updated. The sky lounge and owner’s cabin also now feature Yamaha two-zone receivers which have dual HDMI outputs so that projector inputs can be switched from the cocktail deck amp.
Captain Ian Seward was very pleased with the new systems. “We now have a greatly improved all round viewing experience for the owners and guests onboard. Veritais were extremely helpful with advising us on the upgrade and the best equipment as well as carrying out the work efficiently and quickly.”
Veritais used the new HD over CAT technology which enables transmission of HDMI digital video/audio over standard CAT-5/6 Ethernet cables using an HDMI Transmitter, HDMI Receiver allowing powerful transmission over up to 120ft of Ethernet cables.
