Veritais upgrage for luxury yacht Manifiq
July 10th, 2017
The six year old state of the art luxury 40.5m motor yacht Manifiq has just undergone a far reaching upgrade of her audio visual and control equipment courtesy of the expertise of Veritais, one of the world’s leading consultants and suppliers of AV and control systems.
Working with leading control systems manufacturer RTI, Veritais identified the need for independent zones through the yacht. The living, sleeping and on deck areas needed to be able to play video and audio sources locally via Air play / Wi-Fi as well as sharing the media stored on an existing Kaleidescape Network-Attached-Storage (NAS) Drive. Kaleidescape is the ultimate, from which thousands of videos and music titles can be selected via a simple on screen display.
For audio and visual choices each main area now features an iPad Mini putting the user in control of the TV, Amplifier, Media Player, DVD player, TV lift, lighting, blinds and heating. Using it couldn’t be more simple. [Show mini iPad pic]
The RTI Room Processors access the complete music library stored on the server and Apple TV to allow playback of movies or music in each zone via Airplay. A Kaleidescape HD Media player allows for playback of Blu-ray and DVD movies which have been stored onto the server. A main controller for the system, an RTI XP-8s manages the entire system.
A newly installed Ultra HD (4K) HDMI over IP distribution system, which is the very latest connection solution, enables any source to be viewed on any TV in Ultra HD quality (4K). Veritais undertook the task of rewiring existing satellite decoders so that what you see on the screen is fantastically sharp.
Existing LED TV screens have taken on a new lease of life. Through the living spaces and in the sleeping cabins a new Yamaha AV Receiver is connected to the existing speaker systems, and, as elsewhere, a new iPad Mini and wireless docking system provides all zone control through the RTI app. Veritais have installed new Ultra HD Blu-ray player and Apple TV’s, and in the bridge deck saloon there they are also connected to a new PS4 and Xbox One Console.
The spacious upper salon converts into an impressive cinema that will ensure hours of entertainment for charter guests. Here again, Veritais installations provide independent access to the Kaleidescape movie server, Sky and French Satellite Decoders and CCTV. This means guests can watch Satellite TV and Movies from the server or send their own movies and music to the TV wirelessly using Airplay.
Like the other areas the onboard sleeping cabins on the yacht, the master cabin and guest cabins, as well as the crew mess and captain’s cabin, continue to use their existing LED TVs and speakers but each received a new Yamaha AV Receiver connected to the existing speaker system. Again, Veritais have ensured that it’s all simply controlled with a new iPad Mini and wireless docking system provides all zone control through the RTI app. New Ultra HD Blu-ray players and Apple TV are connected locally and there’s access to Kaleidescape too. You can even change languages on the iPad controls between English, French and Russian.
Even the sun deck’s Yamaha AV Receiver is connected to the existing speakers with iPad Mini control and Kaleidescape choices. Guests can send their own music to the speakers from their own devices wirelessly using Airplay.
The bridge, foredeck and main deck areas already each have a car stereo and speakers but Veritais addition an Airport Express so that crew can now wirelessly stream music from their own phones or iPads to the system.
The RTI app on the iPad also lets those on board control the lighting system, blind system and Steward Call systems will be integrated into the RTI programming on the iPad. [Insert pic of iPad min with control icons].
All the main control units are stored together in a visually impressive rack room which even has its own mini PC and LCD console to allow remote programming.
Built by Mondo Marine, Manifiq’s interior design is striking. The art deco design by Luco Dini is distinguished by the contrast of high gloss dark woods, pale fabrics and Italian marble throughout. The stunning focal point of the main saloon is its Italian antique mirrored glass. Manifiq can accommodate 10 charter guests in five cabins each appointed with the Veritais state of the art entertainment systems.
